Fuerteventura Biosphere & Rural Quality was born in 2016.
It is a project where professionals specialised in Tourism, Environment and Heritage collaborate with the Rural Tourism Associations of the Island in favour of a sustainable tourism model.
The platform, subsidised by the Fuerteventura Department of Tourism, was born from the process of digitalisation and professionalisation that is carried out with the rural accommodation on the island and its purpose is to centralise and geolocate all the local resources, restaurants, artisans, museums, local producers, as well as ecotourism, natural, environmental and municipal events.
This website is the demonstration project of the Local Brand Fuerteventura, Biosphere & Rural Quality, which has been in gestation for almost two years with the Biosphere Reserve and the Rural Tourism Associations Fuerteventura Rural and Smart Fuerteventura. Its next objective is to distinguish itself and work through the National Brand of the Spanish Biosphere Network.
The scope of the majorera brand is to help, guide and reference all those companies and ecotourism activities, which, from the quality and good practices in sustainability and link to the rural community, wish to improve their service offer.
It is a work on the enhancement of the value of a tourist who is aware of and attracted by the island's nature tourism.
It is also intended to link the rural accommodation to the companies and activities through the Fuerteventuraruralpass. This identification will be the collaboration of union, the local gesture of host, towards this rural tourist who wishes to easily find all these resources in a language of respect, conservation and enhancement of them. Therefore, companies involved in ecotourism activities, supermarkets and local producers, artisans... who want to make their offer and services visible, collaborate with us.
